Scarlett – May 2017

So we changed her name from Scarlett to Neala which means champion is Gaelic! Day one has been great! We grabbed her at about 10:15 at the vets office. From the vet we took a ride to my mothers work to meet the three dogs that hang out at her work! She was great on the car ride for the first half she was incredibly curious but eventually decided to snuggle up with a blanket and take a nap. She had an absolute blast when we got to my moms work exploring and running around stumbling over her big paws!
After that we headed home, sadly with the heavy heavy rain we didn’t have the weather for our hike we had planned. Taz was super excited to meet her and she started off a little scared. She picked a nice spot in the kitchen to lay down where she could see everything and everyone, this was VERY short lived before she settled in.
I went in for a quick nap around 1 in the afternoon and she snuggled right up on my head like a hat, I woke up to her and Taz spooning and snuggling.
I took her on a few trips to get her out and about after we woke up; we went to my work, Petco, PetSmart and to my families Cinco de Mayo Taco night. She was a Saint!! Usually curious puppy stuff but a complete ham that’s impossible to not love.
She’s doing great with her eating, I’m picking her up a slow feeder bowl tomorrow (I think she’s eating a little faster so I would rather play it safe) she had a bit of a runny stool when we got home from the pickup today, my guess would be from stress, so I gave her some pumpkin in her lunch and dinner and it looked better when she went at night.
I’m working on some temper testing to see what makes her uncomfortable so that we can help her work past it and build confidence. So far so good!
